Washington DC Trip,
Monday Sept. 11, 2006
We woke up to drizzle on Monday so
we made plans to leave the bikes in the apartment. That made for a slow picture day. I parked the car in a parking garage to save
moving it several times a day. I don’t
know how serious they are about the ticket thing but decided not to tempt
fate. We walked a few blocks and caught
a bus called the DC circulator. They
have 3 routes and you pay $1 to ride it.
We rode over through Georgetown
then back east to Union Station. We
tried to get a look at the Acela but could only get as close as the gate door. We rode the Circulator to the apartment for
lunch then walked down to the Smithsonian to the Museum of the American
Indian. After that we took in a 3D IMAX
about walking on the moon. Very
interesting! We took another DC
Circulator route down to the harbor then back to the apartment. We had dinner with Pat and Mary at an Indian
Restaurant in Dupont Circle
