Washington Trip, Sept. 10, 2006

Sunday, we got out on our bikes early and rode down to the National Mall. We rode west toward the Washington Monument, stopped at the WW II Memorial, then spent some time at the FDR memorial. That was quite impressive! Both FDR and WW II are new monuments. We rode to and went in the Jefferson Memorial then back to the apartment. We met Laura and Merritt for lunch at the Adams Morgan days street fair. After that we walked over to Pat and Mary’s apartment to check that out. It is in an area that seems to be undergoing gentrification and there is a construction project across the street. Around 4:30 we walked to the Metro and rode up to Laura’s place in Rockville. We had a nice dip in her pool then cooked burgers and hotdogs at the BBQ in the common area of her apartment. MMMMM!
